remembering the legendary Kishore Kumar on his 85th Birth Anniversary

Saregama  India Ltd has come out with an infographic remembering the legendary Kishore Kumar on his 85th Birth Anniversary on Monday, the 4th of August 2014. A man who donned many hats, Kishore Kumar was one of the most versatile performers in Indian cinema’s long history.
For the infographic, the major aspects of Kishore Kumar’s life and career are covered in alphabetical order. From A, which stands for Amitabh Bachchan, to Z, for Ziddi, his first film as singer, the user will get an in depth view of Kishore da, as he was affectionately known. Many anecdotes about his eccentricities, and quotes from his peers praising or admiring him are also covered. Some of his other interesting films, such as Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi and Jhumroo, are also covered. His family history, childhood and siblings are also featured. As seen in previous infographics from the company, the infographic will also feature numbers and stats, in order to help appreciate the sheer volume of his work.
Born into the now illustrious Ganguly family in a town in Madhya Pradesh, Kishore da was marked as a special talent from an early age. Although his older brother Ashok Kumar was already an established actor, Kishore da slowly came into his own, first as a playback singer, and then as an actor, director, musician, scriptwriter and stage performer. Besides himself, his voice has been extensively used for superstars Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. In an age where film heroes and comic actors were considered 2 different entities, he introduced the comic hero into Indian cinema.
The company has already come out with infographics on other legendary figures in the Indian music establishment, such as RD Burman, M Balamuralikrishna and Mohd. Rafi. In an age where viral is the mantra, these infographics are the best way to interact with music aficionados.
Avinash Mudaliar, head of Internet Services and Products at Saregama, had this to say, “Kishore Kumar spans generations, and personified many aspects of Hindi cinema to a lot of people. His 85th birth anniversary is a major event and a cause for celebration. With this infographic, we have attempted to bring this information in an exciting format to the Internet generation.”
