Monica Bellucci requests not to be called a ‘Bond girl’.

The 51-year-old globally renowned Italian actress, who stars alongside Daniel Craig in Sam Mendes’ much awaited Spectre, has rejected the tag ‘Bond Girl’ and has asked not to be called so!!
Instead she says she is a ‘James Bond woman’ and was initially surprised to have been approached for the role.
She says, “I’m a true woman, not a Bond girl. That’s why I say all the time: “James Bond lady,” “James Bond woman”.
Monica is the oldest to have appeared opposite James Bond since the movie’s franchise history.
But Monica also adds that she has joined the Bond universe at a time of revolution, helping the cause of older actresses.
She says, “Things right now are changing. I live in France and I see all these actresses like Nathalie Baye, Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, Kristin Scott Thomas, Charlotte Rampling, they’re all having great careers.
SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond adventure, from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, is set for release in India on November 20, 2015 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu.
